Hand-Finished Portuguese Terracotta Decorative Centerpiece Bowl
With its generous rounded form and quietly imperfect surface, Ninho No. 03 feels almost like a vessel shaped to hold collected objects, which inspired its name. Ninho, Portuguese for “nest”, reflects its soft embracing silhouette. The piece begins as a handmade Portuguese terracotta bowl, individually selected for the character already present within its shape and surface.
Each bowl is handmade in Portugal with slow production hand finished through its surface, following the original marks of the making process and enhancing rather than hiding its character.
Its softly weathered earthy finish brings depth to the rounded silhouette before the piece is completed with a final layer of hand-applied wax, giving the surface a subtle tactile richness.
Beautiful as a sculptural object on its own or styled with dried botanicals, natural decorative objects or seasonal arrangements.
